Angel Del Villar, also popularly known as the owner of DEL Records is a Mexican music artist. Villar is one of the most known and successful Mexican music artists of the current time. Besides his immense popularity as an artist, he has also earned a huge fortune and is a millionaire.
The Mexican music artist and record label owner is a happily married man. He has been married for over a year and also fathers a child with his wife. Although Villar has been a prominent figure in Latin music, pretty little is known about him is revealed in the media.

Born Seventh of Nine Children of Mexican Parents
Angel Del Villar was born as the seventh of the nine children of his parents. He was born in the Mexican state of Zacatecas on 20th July 1980. Villar is currently 42 years old.
There isn’t much detail about his early life including his parents’ names and siblings. However, we do know he grew up alongside his six sisters and two brothers. Meanwhile, we can sometimes see Villar sharing his siblings’ and parents’ photos on his social media.
According to some online reports, Villar left his native country Mexico and relocated to the United States at the age of 10. Some sources have given the precise date of his entrance to the US i.e., January 20, 1990. Moreover, a YouTube video about Del Villar revealed that the music artist used the birth certificate of his cousin to enter the country.
Angel del Villar’s Relationship with Chiquis Rivera
During the early 2010s, Del Villar frequently became a hot topic due to his relationship with singer Chiquis Rivera. Even though the couple eventually broke up, they were considered one of the power couples. They started dating in 2012 before Chiquis’ mother, Jenni Rivera’s death.
Rivera had admitted to being in a relationship, however, she never disclosed the name of her boyfriend. Meanwhile, she said on Chiquis Confidentialthat she didn’t feel it was necessary to reveal her boyfriend’s name. In her words, “I’ve never said his name. I don’t feel like I need to. I don’t think it’s necessary because that’s my private life.”
Although Rivera kept her boyfriend’s identity a secret, she always expressed her love to the person openly. However, her mother wasn’t a fan of Angel del Villar. She revealed in her book Forgiveness that her mother Jenni didn’t like Angel as he already had kids.
Irrespective of her mother’s views, Chiquis was devoted to her boyfriend back then. As a matter of fact, on Father’s Day 2015, she paid a tribute to Angel with a sweet message that read:
“I admire you for many reasons, but one of the main reasons you captured my heart is because you’re such a wonderful father… Something that is hard to find nowadays and something wasn’t able to experience first hard. I love you.”
No matter how much Rivera loved the Mexican musician, her relationship was not meant to last forever. In November 2015, Rivera and Angel del Villar split up.
Rivera revealed her breakup in a talk with Spanish media where she said: “I am very hurt…I thought I’d be married in one year, have a baby may be in three years, but never mind, that’s life.”
Married to Cheli Madrid Since 2020
As of 2022, Angel del Villar is happily married to his wife Cheli Madrid. They exchanged vows on February 27th, 2020, after more than a year of romance. According to an article published in LA Times, Villar and Cheli met in 2015, however, they didn’t start dating right away.
As per Cheli’s Instagram post on July 11, 2020, the couple started dating in July 2019. The 30-year-old Mexican singer wrote she and Villar completed one year as a couple.
In the photo she shared, her husband can be seen kissing her forehead while they sat on a corner of a boat. “Today we completed one year as a couple,” wrote Cheli in Spanish. Here is the post.

Less than a year after they started dating, the couple decided to walk down the aisle. And on February 27, 2020, del Villar and Cheli got married in an intimate wedding.
Coincidentally, their marriage date coincided with del Villar’s favorite number. However, Madrid revealed they didn’t plant it as they were supposed to marry on the 26th of February which apparently is Cheli’s birthday. She said,
“We were going to get married on February 26, which is my birthday, but because one of Ángel’s children was not here, we waited for him and got married the next day, but it was fine because 27 is Ángel’s favorite number.”
Besides, Angel and Madrid were engaged for a few months before they tied the knot. Talking with Los Angeles Times in Spanish, Angel revealed he asked his then-girlfriend Cheli to be his wife on November 22, 2019. Interestingly Angel proposed to Cheli at the same place where they would get married in some months.
Angel Parents a Daughter with His wife Cheli Madrid
Exactly seven months after Angel and Madrid became husband and wife, the pair welcomed their first child together, a daughter Angela del Villar. They were already expecting the baby girl at the time of their wedding. The proud parents announced the happy news through their respective social media.
Meanwhile, del Villar set up an Instagram account for their little one which also announced the birth of Angela with the same post. The post showed the baby and the baby mama in a hospital bed where Cheli kissed Angela on the cheek.

Coincidentally enough, Angel’s daughter was born on the 27th which as we mentioned above is Angel’s favorite number. And with the number signifying another important day of his life, it has surely become even more of his favorite.
Angel Is a Father of Six
While Angela is the first child of Angel’s wife Cheli, it’s the sixth for the Mexican businessman. He has five other children from his past relationships. Even though he keeps wishing his children on their birthdays, Angel doesn’t talk much about his grown-up children.
As per LA Times, his five children include three daughters; Maggie, Paris, and Mia, and two sons; Andrew, and Angel. As per records, Angel was only 17 years old when he became a father for the first time.
His Career in Music: He is as an Owner of a Record Label
Angel developed a keen interest in music since his childhood days. After he relocated to the US, he gradually took steps to be a musician. His rise to prominence became a reality after he created a conglomerate of companies in November 2008. The company aimed to recognize and direct young independent artists in the regional Mexican genre.
Within a couple of years, the company went on to become one of the most important independent record companies of the genre. Del Villar is the owner and CEO of the company. As per his YouTube bio, his companies includeDEL Records, DEL Studios, DEL Publishing, DEL Sports, DEL Store, and DEL Entertainment.
So far, Villar’s record label has featured many international Latin superstars, including Ulices Chaidez, Gerardo Ortiz, and Lennin Ramirez among others.
Angel Del Villar’s Company violated federal law
In June 2022, Angel’ company Del Records was charged with violating federal law. One of Del Records’ artists was scheduled to perform at a concert in Aguascalientes, Mexico, which was organized by Jesus ‘Chucho’ Perez, a music promoter who was sanctioned by the US government in 2018 for laundering drug money.
Now according to Kingpin Act, any US national is strictly prohibited from engaging in deals or transactions with someone sanctioned by the Treasury Department. Angel was arrested by the FBI and after appearing in a Los Angeles federal court, he was released in a $100,000 bond without entering a plea.
Is He a Billionaire? What is His Net Worth?
Angel Del Villar has been active as a musician and a businessman for over a decade now. He has done well with his profession which has undoubtedly earned him a hell of a lot of money. However, del Villar is not a billionaire in any way. There are several online sites that have mentioned Villar as the Mexican billionaire record label owner, however, it’s not the truth. We checked him on Forbes’ official list of billionaires of 2022 and there is no presence of his name.
So, it is pretty clear that Villar is not a billionaire, however, he is undoubtedly a millionaire. We don’t know his exact net worth at present, however, we assume he has a net worth of around $5 million in 2023.
